Broadbeach hosts the Australian Life Saving Championships each year, having been chosen from the whole of the Australian coastline. The Life Savers saw the rest and then chose Broadbeach for similar reasons to the builders of Jupiter's Casino, Oasis Mall, Pacific Fair Shopping Mall and the many high quality restaurants, shops and other attractions. For many years Broadbeach has drawn repeat tourists, building up to it's reputation as the "Oasis in Paradise".
